Want to do the right thing for the
environment but can't find a transit alternative that works for you?
Consider an alternative fuel vehicle. Electric vehicles were available from a
major auto manufacturer now for the first time since the early 1900s.
The Electric Auto Association will be holding its 32th annual electric car rally
at Palo Alto High School on October 9th, from 10am to 4pm at the corner of El
Camino Real and Embarcadero Road.
Come see and ride in electric
cars owned and driven daily by people in the Bay Area. Free Admission, Free
rides.
Background material
The Electric Auto Association
(EAA), is a non profit, national organization with 1000 members worldwide founded
in 1967, dedicated to the promotion of electric vehicles and to support the owners
of electric vehicles.
The EAA has been organizing rallies
for 32 years to help introduce electric vehicles to the public. This years rally
at Palo Alto High School, will include several production electric vehicles which
will be on display for the public (with some available for test drives) as well
as privately owned vehicles which have been in regular use in the Bay Area for
many years.
In the 1900, electrics out numbered gas powered
vehicles and there were hundreds of companies building electrics at this time.
Electrics again have an important role as an alternative to fossil fuel powered
vehicles.
Surveys suggest that 80% of Bay Area commuters drive
less than 30 miles each day. Many of these drivers could have an electric as a
second car.
Sponsors for our Event include: Palo
Alto Hardware (Ace), TheatreWorks,
